Once a year, for a Friday evening and Saturday at the start of summer, a mountain appears. Surrounding it, three lands rise around it. Sunday night it vanishes without a trace as if nothing happened. Except to everyone who was inside.
You walk through a tunnel in a mountain at the gate. Once you're through you're a Mountaineer, an explorer sent ahead to check out a future where technology has . Your job is to explore. Take scenic rides, explore a bioluminescent garden, observe inspiring art. Enjoy eating new foods, making art, and finding new gifts.
Your ticket at the gate is the last time money works. Inside, everything is free. The rides are free. The snacks are free. The gift shop is a place you're gifted things you don't pay for. You'll also notice there are no brands or advertisements in this land. Everything you touch was made, on purpose, for you.
Sprouts, is a bioluminescent garden full of foliage and creatures. The Bridge, where the teacups race a winding circuit and an ornate wooden span carries you right over the middle of it. The Fire Plaza, where the boldest artists show the most wonder-provoking things they made. The entire park is best seen after dark, when glow of the lights and hum of the music inspire wonder. Circling the perimeter art cars giving rides to Mountaineers as they explore each land.
The mountain has a crew of volunteers. They call themselves Theme Punks. They are the dreamers, designers, musicians, makers, engineers, builders, painters, welders, gardeners, and cooks who make everything inside the park. They work all year to help Mystery Mountains appear and disappear.
